Pretty good end to a great series.Overall, I really enjoyed this series. Books 1 & 2 really drew me in, and book 3 tidied things up fairly well. I enjoyed much of the direction that the author took, but ultimately I feel that everyone would have benefited with one additional chapter.......especially the readers.
At the risk of posting a SPOILER, I will keep this vague.
I would have appreciated a more satisfying revenge regarding the final death on the dock. Austin could have played a more pivotal role.
I would have enjoyed a more satisfying ending to the final meeting in the ocean with the Russians.
And finally, I could have used a little more in depth reunion of the family.
But, i didn't write the book; Mr. Adair did, and for that I am grateful.
I really enjoyed this book, and will definitely look for other releases from this author, as well as recommend him to other readers.

Bravo, Mr. Adair!! I waited ever so patiently for this book, and it was everything I hoped it would be - and even a little bit more. Once again, you dazzled with your characters and kept your science and medicine on point. Your use of your imagination in this novel was, in my opinion, your best thus far. A silo?!? Bloody brilliant! Also, the staph infection was a fine touch... A great twist while being completely feasible.
Also, you deserve the highest praise for actually writing a true trilogy. I myself have said, more than once, that a majority of trilogies could have easily been taken care of in two books because the third is so disappointing due to the author seeing to need to 'stretch' out the story. Ebola K, Book 3 is an absolute exception. You tied up every possible loose end, gave true closure to so much, and didn't need to add any 'fluff'. Although I would love to know if Austin choses to dedicate his life to Doctors Without Borders or the CIA...

Quite a few of the other reviews are a wee bit disappointed in the succinct ending of this series. I thought that it was nicely wrapped up. That's not to say that I wouldn't enjoy more on the characters we know and love in the series. On the other hand, in my opinion, sometimes it feels good to be left with one's own idea of the circumstances following the author's ending. We weren't left hanging on a cliff. Everything came out in the wash and it was a fab series. Very realistic. Quite a few times I was on the edge of my seat. What a ride! For the reviewer talking about typos and such, Mr. Adair asks readers to contact him directly on those issues, so he can correct them asap and the reader can just comment on the storyline, character development, etc. I didn't notice a lot of errors I was too busy enjoying the story. If they were very noticeable I would have contacted the author directly as per his request. In closing, I've read the Slow Burn series and the collaborative effort with Mr. Piperbrook. I've not been disappointed on either count. I usually have a few books going at once and I put them on the back burner more than once for these tales. Keep 'em comin'.
Books written solely by Mr. Adair, not in partnership with other writers, deserve reflection before assigning them fewer than 5 stars. I enjoy his books and look forward to future releases. He's a great story teller, and as demonstrated in the Ebola series, he can create complex characters and equally complex relationships. So kudos to the author, and I mostly rate his Ebola 3 at 5 stars.
However, there are a lot of typos, many instances of improper punctuation, and too many grammatical boo boos in book 3. Not that he can't and won't fix them over time, but either he needs a new editor or a beta reader charged solely with identifying the many mistakes. I find them tiresome. Yes, every reader of Slow Burn knows Adair isn't particular about technical gaffs, and his stories are so strong as to make it easy to ignore the minor poo, but Ebola 3 is, ahem, a Petri dish of technical annoyances. Hopefully he'll address this quickly and remove the distractions for his future readers, of which I hope there will be many. Unquestionably, I will be among them.
As wrote another reviewer, I too would have preferred that the ending had more detail, in the instances that reviewer suggested and in a few other thin spots, but be clear on this I very much look forward to a long reader/writer relationship with Adair, and wish him the best.
Expect to enjoy the entire Ebola series. You won't be disappointed.
SPOILERS FOR BOOKS ONE AND TWO
Najid should have died in Book Two. Let's just get that out of the way. I loved the parts of this book (and the first two) that focused on the individual characters and their experiences. The last half/third, though, has a major Tom Clancy-esque plot that just didn't work for me.
As Bobby Adair says in the introduction, he likes putting his characters into difficult situations and seeing how they react. The first part of the book, and the first two in general, do this well. I liked the way there are three stories told through three related characters. When the story is about Austin's attempts to get help, Olivia's help from a distance, and Paul's adventures to immunize himself, it works really well. When it goes more "global" and deals with the terrorists who started the epidemic, and the political consequences/realities of how the plague is handled here in the US, it bogs down for me.
There are a couple of twists in the various plots, but no real surprises. This is fine, but it makes the end of Austin's story pretty flat. Also, Paul's story gets a little predicable, and a big emotional moment between him and a Colonel didn't have the emotional heft it could have mostly because it seems a little rushed and out of the blue.
I've loved all of his books, and this is still a mostly satisfying conclusion to the series, but based on past performance I was hoping for something better. A little more intimate focus on the end of Paul's story, maybe more time to let that be explored, and less taking down the terrorists would have made this a terrific conclusion.
